The D-5 admixture
The D-5 admixture is a highly efficient multi-functional chemical admixture to concrete, dry construction mixtures and cement.
The D-5 admixture makes concrete waterproofing possible (W20 or more) and enables sulfate resistance (on Portland cement). Concrete with the D-5-admixture may be used for a long time (at least 50 years) in water-saturated soils or directly in water without any additional waterproofing, and it can also be used in an extreme environment, including sewage and seawater. The D-5 admixture colmatages all microcracks in the concrete, so that water and moisture stay outside.
In addition, the D-5 admixture increases the durability of concrete almost 2 times. On the 28th day the concrete with the D-5 admixture is 30-50% more durable compared to concrete without it. At the same time the D-5 admixture plasticizes the concrete mixture very well and prevents its stratification. It has the unique property of “self-healing” of through cracks, which ensures that “cold” joints in concrete don’t leak.
If the D-5 admixture is mixed with cement, it obtains the following properties: increased strength, water resistance, sulfate resistance, plasticity, reinforced protection of fittings in concrete. At the same time this cement retains its properties about 9-12 months during storage in closed container, instead of 2-3 months without using D-5 admixture.
The D-5 admixture is eco-friendly and has no negative effects on humans. Moreover, it is possible to construct concrete structures containing the D-5 admixture which will come into contact with drinking water.
We guarantee the quality of our products. The company has implemented ISO 9001-2011 quality management system. Each batch of products is a subject to a strict control, from quality control of initial components and production processes to quality control of finished products. We have our own laboratory and quality control department.
Since 2006 there has been industrial scale production of the D-5 admixture. It is widely used in civil and industrial construction, as well as in the construction of hydraulic structures, bridges, tunnels, ports, swimming pools, drinking water tanks, treatment facilities, underground garages, embankment strengthening and other constructions.
Our biggest project is the construction of derivation tunnel N 2 at the Zaramag hydroelectric power station. The tunnel is more than 14 km long, with construction underway for 9 years, so the volume of concrete with the D-5 admixture used was more than 140 000 m3. We supervised the whole construction process. In February 2020 Zaramag hydroelectric power station was put into operation.
The D-5 admixture is a powder.
Packaging: paper valve bags of 15 kg and big bags of 1000 kg. Paper bags and big bags can be laid on trays with size of 1000×1200 mm, wrapped with stretch tape and fastening belts.
Shelf life in dry conditions is not less than 24 months.
Recommended proportion: 2-3% of cement weight.

Concretes with the D-5 admixture are as waterproof as possible (up to W20 or more), which allows to exclude completely any additional waterproofing of concretes in water-saturated soils or directly in water.
High waterproofness of concrete with D-5 admixture saves its property for the entire life-time of the construction.
Wetness and “fungus” disappear in rooms with increased humidity plastered with the D-5 admixture.
High sulfate resistance
Concretes with the D-5 admixture are high sulfate resistant even when ordinary Portland cement is used.
This makes it possible to exclude additional waterproofing of concrete even in an aggressive environment, including sewage drains, seawater, oil and petroleum products.
The D-5 admixture increases the durability of concrete at the “age” of 28 days by 30% – 50% compared to concrete without admixture (in equally moving mixtures) or allows reducing cement consumption by 15-20%.
Acceleration of the process of durability development
The rated 100% strength of concrete with D-5 admixture is achieved on the 3rd-7th day of hardening under normal conditions.
This allows reducing the time of monolithic construction by not less than 15-20% with simultaneous improvement of quality and durability of constructions. It is possible to exclude the process of heat and moisture treatment, replacing it with heating in “thermos” conditions at temperature of 30 – 40° С.
High frost resistance
The D-5 admixture increases frost resistance of concretes by at least 2 grades and allows to produce concretes with frost resistance of F400 and higher.
The D-5 admixture increases mobility of concrete from P1 to P5, or reduces water consumption by 15-25%.
The D-5 admixture generally eliminates the need for additional plasticizers or reduces their consumption.
The D-5 admixture imparts water-retaining capacity to the concrete, prevents delamination and improves pumping capacity.
It also increases the fluidity of concrete mixtures up to 2 hours or more (at initial fluidity 22-23 cm) at the temperature 20 ± 200 С.
At higher temperatures the use of hardening moderators is recommended.
Air supply and environmental friendliness
The D-5 admixture provides a normal air supply to the concrete in the range of 2-3% on concrete without additions, and 3-5% on cement with slag content of up to 15%.
The D-5 admixture does not contain components dangerous to cement stone and reinforcement, nor does it form toxic compounds in air and water.
The addition of D-5 admixture is allowed in concrete structure which come into contact with drinking water.
“Self-healing” of through cracks
“Self-healing” of through cracks up to 0.5 mm wide, which may appear in constructions due to dynamic loads, including seismic ones.
Mandatory condition is a filtration of water through cracks.
This property means that “cold” joints in concrete don’t leak even in case of long breaks in concreting.
