The D-5 admixture
The D-5 admixture is a complex multifunctional admixture which greatly improves practically all the main characteristics of concretes and mortars. In our opinion the main property of the admixture is increasing of waterproofing characteristics (W20 or more) and sulfate-resistance (on ordinary Portland cement). Concretes with the admixture D-5 may be used in water-saturated soils or directly in water without any additional waterproofing for a long time (at least 50 years), as well as in aggressive environment, including sewage and seawater. The D-5 admixture is suitable for colmatage of all microcracks and capillaries in concrete, so there is no capillary suction of water in concretes with the admixture D-5.
Besides, the D-5 admixture accelerates strength gain of concrete almost twice and increases strength of concrete at the age of 28 days by 30-50% as compared to concrete without the admixture. At the same time the D-5 admixture plasticizes the concrete mix and prevents its from layering. It has the unique property of «self-healing» of through cracks, that prevents «cold» joints from leaking.
If the D-5 admixture is mixed with cement, the ready-mixed cement will be extremely strong, waterproof, sulfate-resistant, plastic and strengthens protection of reinforced structures in concrete. At the same time such cement keeps its properties for about 9-12 months, instead of 2-3 months, when stored in a closed container.
The D-5 admixture is eco-friendly and doesn’t contain components which can negatively affect the environment and humans. It is approved for production of concrete and reinforced concrete structures contacting drinking water.
We guarantee the quality of our product. The Quality Management System ISO 9001-2011 is implemented at the company and each batch of product is subject to strict control, including quality control of primary components, technological process control and product quality control. We have our own laboratory and quality control department.
Since 2006 the D-5 admixture has been produced on an industrial scale and is widely used in housing, civil and industrial construction, as well as in hydraulic architecture, construction of bridges, tunnels, ports, swimming pools, drinking water tanks, treatment facilities, underground parking, in fortification of embankments and other essential constructions.
Our most large-scale project is the construction of derivation tunnel №2 at the Zaramag hydroelectric power station. The tunnel is more than 14 km long, it had been under construction for 9 years, the volume of concrete used with the D-5 admixture was more than 140 000 m3. We had been performing constant supervision of the construction process. In February 2020 the Zaramag hydroelectric power station was put into operation.
The D-5 admixture is available in powder form.
Packaging: 15 kg paper valve bags and 1000 kg big-bags. Paper bags and big-bags can be laid on 1000 x 1200 mm pallets, wrapped by stretch film and fastening tapes.
Shelf life in dry conditions is not less than 24 months.
Recommended dosage: 2-3% of cement weight.

Concretes with the D-5 admixture are highly waterproof (up to W20 or more), which allows to exclude any additional waterproofing of concretes in water-saturated soils or directly in water.
High waterproofness of concrete with the D-5 admixture keeps its property for the entire life-time of the structure.
Plastering walls with the D-5 admixture allows to avoid humidity and «fungus» in rooms.
Concretes with the D-5 admixture are high sulfate-resistant even when ordinary Portland cement is used.
It allows to exclude additional waterproofing of concrete even if operated in aggressive environment, including sewage drains, seawater, oil and oil products.
The D-5 admixture increases the strength of concrete at the age of 28 days by 30-50% compared to concrete without admixture (in mixes with equal slump) or allows to reduce cement consumption by 15-20%.
Acceleration of strength gain
The rated 100% strength of concrete with the D-5 admixture is achieved on the 3rd-7th day of hardening under normal conditions.
This allows to reduce the time of monolithic construction by not less than 15-20% with simultaneous improvement of quality and durability of constructions.
When producing precast reinforced structures it is possible to exclude the process of heat and moisture treatment, replacing it with heating in «thermos» conditions at a temperature of 30-40° С.
High frost resistance
The use of the D-5 admixture increases frost resistance of concretes by at least 2 grades and allows to produce concretes with frost resistance of F400 and higher.
The D-5 admixture increases flowability of concrete mixes from P1 to P5, or reduces water consumption in mixes with equal slump by 15-25%.
With the D-5 admixture there is no need to use additional plasticizers or their consumption is reduced.
The D-5 admixture provides a concrete mix with water-retaining capacity, prevents from layering and improves its pumping.
It also increases retention of flowability of concrete mixes up to 2 hours or more (with initial slump 22-23 cm) at a temperature 20±20 С.
At higher temperatures the use of hardening retarders is recommended.
Air-entrainment and eco-friendliness
The D-5 admixture provides air-entrainment of concrete mix in the range of 2-3% on concrete without admixtures, and 3-5% on cement with slag content of up to 15%.
The D-5 admixture does not contain components which can negatively affect cement stone and reinforcement, it does not form toxic compounds in air and water.
The admixture D-5 is approved for producing of concrete and reinforced concrete structures which contact drinking water.
«Self-healing» of through cracks
«Self-healing» of through cracks up to 0.5 mm wide, which may appear in structures due to dynamic loads, including seismic ones is possible.
Necessary condition is filtration of water through cracks.
This property provides leakproofness of «cold» joints in concrete with D-5 even in case of long breaks in concreting.
